A Triple Combo
05-24-2003 E 12:03 p.m.
No, I'm not back. I'm just stealing a few hours on Dad's computer. I have the house to myself, so I've written a couple emails, read who'sever updated and now...I'm updating.

Have three topics I'm hoping to mash in here while I have the time. The first is:

  • Spamming with porn
  • Recently a couple of my friends and I who have MSN Messenger have been spammed quite a number of times by people who advertise their XXX rated sites. They find us randomly, IM us and spam us. What's more, they use some address that cannot be replied to. That's the infuriating part. Trust me, I've tried.

Well, I've something to say to these people, though they'll never read it. WE DON'T WANT YOUR SPAM. IT'S SICKENING, AND THOUGH WE IGNORE YOU AND JUST EXIT OUT THE WINDOW, IT'S IRRITATING AS HECK TO SEE YOUR WINDOWS POP UP IN THE MIDDLE OF WHATEVER TASK WE'RE DOING. IF YOU WANT TO ADVERTISE YOUR STUFF OR SITE DO IT ON THE SITES AND IN CHATS PROMOTING THIS TYPE OF THING. LEAVE US ALONE!

The same goes for guestbooks. I just had to delete an advertisement left on mine because I don't want people who know me getting the wrong idear. Call me a prude if you want to, I don't care, but it gets old seeing porn site ads in your email box every time you sign in, any time an unknown person IMs you or on your guestboard. I don't care if you like those sites and view them yourself, but please, leave the advertising in the appropriate places. *steps off her soapbox*

    Second topic is:

  • Choices made by stars
  • Yesterday afternoon Mom caught part of a program on VH1 about celebrity bad hair. The narrator mentioned that people threw a fit when Kerri Russell of Felicity cut her hair short. They quit watching it just because of her choice. Ratings went down so much the WB put out a statement that nobody could cut their hair. One woman said she cried for hours when Julia Roberts cut hers and went blonde. It was like her life was over!

Who the heck cares? It's their lives, people! Their hair. They shouldn't have to have your approval to do something so banal as get a new haircut! Get a flipping life, folks. *blushes, and once again steps off her soapbox*

    Third topic is:

  • My dream about Evan last night
  • Yup, I dreamed about the boy last night. I don't remember much, just that he called me out of the blue and Mom kept trying to interrupt.

It was at night and I was watching tv. I don't remember if I answered it or if Mama did. All I remember most is our conversation. He was still thinking about me and wondered how I was. I could tell he wanted to try being friends again, yet half way during the convo I could feel he was fighting inwardly with himself over his adversion to my disability. And it was a losing battle. I told him if he disappeared again, I would be the one walking away and it would really be over. At this point Mom walked in and kept interrupting. I soon woke up after that.

I just had a thought as I was typing this. Evan never really gave me a chance to tell him off or to get closure. Perhaps this dream was a way to tell him?
