Have I mentioned Egypt opens doors now? Yep, and it's good he hasn't tried the outside door because it would be bye-bye, kitty. Early this morning around dawn (I could tell by the semi-darkness the sun was about to rise) I rolled more onto my side and met with something warm and furry. Egypt. Gasping in surprise and coming awake fully, I rolled back. He rubbed his feline head into my hand--btw he was purring loudly at this point as if pleased that I'd finally taken notice of him.

He now moved to my face, nosing with his cold, wet nose and licking wherever was exposed. He'd walk over me and settle briefly--still purring like he owns this house--behind me. Next he'd go to my feet and circle back to my face. I'd try to make him lie down, but Ege just wanted to cover me in kisses. At length I tried shifting to get away from The Licker. But he'd follow me and start licking my neck or ears. Perhaps he thought I was dirty??

Finally I'd had it. I wanted to sleep! I pulled the covers up over me face. He tried following me under. Nuh uh, fat chance buster. When he couldn't slip under the covers with me to continue my feline bath, he decided to force me out from underneath them. He pounced on my head and started "massaging"--with claws--the blankets. He'd pounce and massage, pounce and massage. It was like Ege was saying, "I wanna play! C'mon!" It was both amusing and annoying.

After awhile of purposefully remaining under zee covers Egypt apparently became bored. There was no more purring, only blessed silence. Later today I learned he had gone up zee stairs and given Jon the same wake up call. Finally I could sleep!
