The day started out rainy and dismal, but now...now blue sky peeks out from behind a thin veil of stratus clouds. Perhaps now my silent, invisible dove can wing its way to my charge, offering her a little more peace as she chooses which path to follow. Once again, she is at a crossroads in her life, needing to make a choice that will decide the next several months of her life. Perhaps for the next year or two even.
She graduates in two weeks. After that she embarks on a new phase in life: job hunting and becoming a working girl. A phase she's wanted to be in for months now. Though as it gets closer, I can feel her trepidation growing, mixing with the excitement she feels upon finally graduating. It's the unknown that concerns her.
Ah, thank goodness there is only a slight wind. I wouldn't want Pacalis to be blown off course, but no, he's safely made it to her and alights on her shoulder. Give her the peace she seeks, my friend. Remind her I am proud of her; she's come so far since high school, and though sometimes she falters she's striving to be the best she can be. Help her to know the temporary decision she's made is a good start. And remind her lastly, that I love her and though I'm no longer with her physically, I will always be with her spiritually and watch over her.
For she is my great-granddaughter.

I've felt like writing this piece for weeks now, though the words wouldn't come. This may sound sappy or odd, but it's the only way I knew to express how I've often felt in certain circumstances. And, to be honest I don't know if this would be Grannie's style as a guardian angel, or her exact words. But it is the jist of what she would say.
Oh! Don't forget to look at my new project!
