Jon and Aubree had orthodontist appts. in I.F. today so we all made a trip of it. While the kids were rewired (ha ha, a lil orthodontist humor) Mom and I skipped over to Roberts Arts and Crafts where I espied the lil pillow. Got it 40% off, too, with a coupon. It says 'God bless America,' and after looking at it I decided if there's enough room I'm going to put 09-11-01 on it. Mom did her own patriotic project; this'll be mine.
In other news, I'm rewriting the Earth poem. The first draft was getting too long and didn't seem to encompass all that is the Earth. But this draft holds promise. I just wish I were done with it. It's the only poem that's ever given me fits. Course any previous poem I've written, with the exception of the one for Mexican Independence Day, was born when the inspiration struck. Oh sure, it may take me two or three days to a week to get a poem the way I like it, but all the bare bones are there.
The leaves are just now turning colors and are carpeting sidewalks and lawns. The final sign of autumn has appeared. First there was a coolness, then the crispness in zee air. And lastly, the pretty golds, oranges and reds of dying leaves. (Hmm, the word 'dying' kinda wrecks the beauty of the image, huh?)
