I transferred the couple of stanzas I had tinkered with at one this morning to zee computer then totally rewrote the second stanza. (Yeah, you read me right. I wrote two stanzas while I was dead tired between the hour of 12:30 and 1:30 while waiting for Jon to decide it was time for beddie-bye.) And you know what? They weren't half bad. I kept the fourth try of the first one and just reworded the main idea for the second when a new thought occurred to me.
The Earth isn't just red, white or brown soil. It's an environment. It's green and things are newly awake in the springtime. It's lush and colorful and fragrant in the summer. In the fall the land and trees are bedecked in beautiful shades of red, gold and brown. And lastly, as the world awaits a new birth it's covered in white snow as couples kiss fondly under a sprig of deep green mistletoe.
So now Mother Earth is bedecked in robes the colors of each season. *an idea sparks* Nevermind, the computer is being finicky. Probably heard me say I want to axe it. Anyways I have a good start on it. Hopefully I'll have an epiphany bigger than the one last night so I can get the right feel and imagery for Earth's personification. Night.
