I talked with Heather too, but it wasn't until today she had some news. It's been quite the day for her. It'll be interesting to see if all goes as her cousins plan. And what the young man she's pals with plans.
However, and I'm not one to talk really, with the mistakes I've made and I know love is grand, but if you're a young LDS man and have the opportunity to go on a mission then you should go. Love is no reason (or excuse) to say no. As Heather says, if the love is real then it'll wait for the short time the two will have to spend apart while he serves the church and the Lord. If anything it'll strengthen the love. But the lad wants to be with his girlfriend and they'll be married in a couple years. Uh... *buzzer sound* no. That's a second mistake. It's never good to have a long engagement. Too many things can happen in two years time. When Mike and Jen and Jessy and Nathaniel all decided to get married, they were all told: "If you love each other don't wait. You made the decision, see it through."
I don't know this gentleman and I probably shouldn't be making such opinions as I don't know his exact situation. It's all too easy to make snap judgments with this type of action he's chosen though, but then I'm not involved. Heather doesn't like it either, but he's her friend and whatever he finally decides she'll stand by him. It's just sad with the choice he's made. I'm sure the girl is perfectly lovely, but think how much better blessed they'd be if he went on a mission.
I think I'll sign off before I babble on about something. C-ya.
