* 'Twas the night before Christmas Eve, and all through the house the season could be seen and felt, upstairs and down. The tv was showing Jingle All the Way with Sinbad and good old Arnie, Santas graced walls and nooks and crannies. The trees were all aglow and the stockings were hung under a minitature frontier town on the mantel with care.

Mama was upstairs in her room quietly going insane wrapping presents. Jon and Kami lay snoozing on the sofas before the tv, dreaming of who knew what. Aubree, the youngest carried an ever growing pile of presents to the tree--has Mama bought out the store?? Aubree then sat before our decorated pine tree to count the presents.

"Shiloh got ten!" she gasped. "Kami got twelve! How many do I get?"

And Egypt, the cat...sat in the laundry room curled up on a high place, waiting to batt at someone's poor head unexpectedly as they walked through the door.

And last but not least, for I can't leave my tale undone! my papa drove the slick country roads to get my grandma home.
