Part 2: The Lyrics of Silent Night
12-20-2002 E 5:39 p.m.
Here are the lyrics to that famous Austrian carol. If you missed the story behind the song, click here.
Silent Night

Silent night, Holy night!
All is calm, all is bright.
Round yon Virgin Mother and Child,
Holy Infant so tender and mild,
Sleep in heavenly peace,
Sleep in heavenly peace.

Silent night, Holy night!
Shepherds quake at the sight,
Glories stream from heaven afar,
Heav'nly hosts sing Hallelujah,
Christ the Saviour is born,
Christ the Saviour is born.

Silent night, Holy night!
Son of God, love's pure light.
Radiant beams from Thy holy face,
With the dawn of redeeming grace,
Jesus Lord at Thy birth, Jesus Lord at thy birth.

Fr. Joseph Mohr

We have definitely received our snow; it snowed most of the day today. So the atmosphere is complete. And tomorrow night Jessy, Nathaniel and Kami get in. Mom and Dad have been wrapping presents over the past few days and already it looks 10 people live here instead of five. That's how many are under zee tree so far, and Mom and Dad are still wrapping presents!

So much for "It's going to be a small Christmas this year, kids."

If you really want to,
You can hear me say
"Only if you want to
Can you find a way."
If you really want to,
You can seize the day.
Only if you want to,
Can you find a way.
