I got tired of the last layout's colors so I switched. But then, that's me; I change things when I get bored with them.
Here is my favorite hymn of the season that can be found in most hymn books:
Angels We Have Heard On High
Angels we have heard on high
Sweetly singing oer the plains,
And the mountains in reply
Echoing their joyous strains.
Gloria, in excelsis Deo!
Gloria, in excelsis Deo!
Shepherds, why this jubilee?
Why your joyous strains prolong?
What the gladsome tidings be
Which inspire your heavenly song?
Gloria, in excelsis Deo!
Gloria, in excelsis Deo!
Come to Bethlehem and see
Christ Whose birth the angels sing;
Come, adore on bended knee,
Christ the Lord, the newborn King.
Gloria, in excelsis Deo!
Gloria, in excelsis Deo!
See Him in a manger laid,
Whom the choirs of angels praise;
Mary, Joseph, lend your aid,
While our hearts in love we raise.
Gloria, in excelsis Deo!
Gloria, in excelsis Deo!
I love the music to this. Did you know it was originally a French carol called Les Anges dans nos Campagnes? I also find it interesting that the Hall creed or motto--Mom was a Hall--is Gloria in Excelsis Deo. Gloria to God in the Highest.
"A great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, 'Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men, on whom His favor rests.'"
