Feeling-- blecky
Reading-- The Princess Diaries, Volume V: Princess In Pink by Meg Cabot
Listening to-- nothing

I AM SO SICK OF THIS COUGH!!!! AAARRRGGGHHHHH!!

*in a much more calmer, lady-like tone and manner* Ok, ok. Now that I got that sentiment out of the way I can move on. I was going through the various blogs I read to see who had updated and what was new when I came to Thom's. As I was leaving a comment on his latest entry I noticed in the left side column of links he has "memes" listed. Knowing me and memes, I, of course, couldn't resist clicking on the link. And as I scrolled down a bit, this is what I found:

    Digging Into Your Archives
  1. Delve into your blog archive.
  2. Find your 23rd post (or closest to).
  3. Find the fifth sentence (or closest to).
  4. Post the text of the sentence in your blog along with these instructions.
  5. Tag five people to do the same.
Whelp, I dug, I unearthed and this is what my 23rd entry has given back to the Present.

Here's a piece of advice for ya--it's not recommendable to have taken a bath before your sister accidentally causes a fire to burn out of control.

Yes, that was my sage advice from 11-14-2001. That was the night Aubree tried putting more paper into the fire--at Mom's suggestion, I believe--and it didn't really settle onto the already burning logs right...sssooo the now burning paper and some logs fell back out onto the tiled hearth and... Wwwhhhooossshhh! We had a new, even hotter wall of fire, now as high as our wood mantel. Naturally, as any panicked 11-year-old would do, Aubree started screaming, "The house is on fire!! The house is on fire!"

Yesssiree, it's not everyday you get to unearth sage advice and a memory like this. I don't think I'll tag anyone, but it was a fun meme to do, so...if anybody wants to give it a go, I'll be interested to see what you dig up.

The advantage of a bad memory is that one enjoys several times the same good things for the first time.
