Did You Know...II
01-23-2003 E 3:11 p.m.
Aaahh, my brief interlude of fun and hilarity is over, and it's back to the grindstone for me. Kjerstina had to go back today cause of work. But it was fun while it lasted. My only irking moment whenever I'm with her is that she likes having me decide what we do instead of it being a joint decision. I hate that because then I feel like I'm dictating to her and not allowing an equal say in the friendship. I've tried telling her this, but it doesn't seem to stick with her. But once we've made up our minds, it's pure fun after that. Last night we finally made it to the movies after three or four tries! LOL. We saw Maid In Manhattan. It's ok. It's cute, but not one I'd buy for keeps. Then this morning we accompanied Mom to bowling league and played our own game on an open lane. I bowled a 103, Kjerstina a 129. It's the second time I've ever broke a 100; I don't even care that I lost technically! I'm just excited I broke a 100.

One of Dad's other emails he brought home is good for a Did You Know... game, so that's what I'm going to do today.

Did You Know...II
1) Old wives say, "An apple a day keeps the doctor away." And some legends say garlic keeps the vampires away. Well, those seductive creatures aren't the only things garlic keeps away. It contains acids and other compounds that break down or prevent tumors from forming and is good for your heart.

2) The English long bow originated in Wales around 1150 A.D.

3) Ghengis Khan's empire stretched westward from Mongolia to present day Prague and down south into Arabia.

4) The toothbrush was invented in 1498.

5) 40,000 Americans are injured by toilets each year.

6) Apples, not caffeine, are more efficient at waking you up in the morning.

7) People do not get sick from cold weather; it's from being inside a lot more.

8) When you sneeze all bodily functions stop, even your heart.

9) The average computer user blinks seven times a minute.

10) John Travolta turned down the starring roles in An Officer and a Gentleman and Tootsie.

11) Michael Jackson owns the rights to the South Carolina State anthem.

12) The REAL reason ostriches stick their heads in the sand is to search for water.

13) In most tv commercials advertising milk, a mixture of white paint and a little thinner is used in place of the milk.

14) The only two animals that can see behind themselves without turning their heads are the rabbit and the parrot.

15) The first Harley Davidson motorcycle built in 1903 used a tomato can for a carburetor.

16) If coloring weren't added to Coca~Cola, it'd be green.

17) Babies are born without kneecaps. They don't occur until they are two-to-six-years-old.

Hope you found these interesting.
