Wanna know a lil secret? An unChristmas secret? *looks left then right furtively and leans forward; I say in a stage whisper...* I still have my lil painted jack-o-lantern. That's right, I still have Jack. In mid to late December. He's painted so he really hasn't mildewed or withered horribly like the carved variety does after so many days. Jack has this toothy happy grin and a sparkle in his eyes, not to mention a well-behaved, yet curious spider that's his constant sidekick. And I don't plan on saying goodbye to him till after the New Year.
Hey, I never denied I was strange.
I can't believe how fast December has flown! Can you? Every other year that I've been aware of, the days before Christmas seemed to tick by so slowly, building up the anticipation, almost to the point of not being able to stand it! But not this year. It's been a challenge and race to see if I could keep up with the days in doing my countdown. 'Course, part of that has been my computer troubles. Kinda hard to update regularly and with what you want to add when you're having to borrow someone else's computer, but after today I'm caught up! Yay!
I do my best to help her
I've done the things I should
If you'll please bring me a puppy dog
I promise to be good.
I get to missing Dad so much
Though I know he's there with you
I think a pup would cheer me up
And soothe me when I'm blue."
So, the little boy fell off to sleep
And drifted far away
He dreamed of fluffy puppy dogs
That chased him in his play.
Then something strange awakened him
In the middle of the night
He felt a presence in the room
But no one was in sight.
The little boy looked all around
There was not a soul to greet
But a small and fluffy puppy
Curled up there at his feet.
Wishes really do come true
In his heart he felt so glad
The tag attached said simply,
"To you dear son...from Dad."
